Synopsis
Everyone knows the rules of the world. Never enter the abandoned room after midnight. Never answer when the dead call your name. Never look directly at the thing hiding in the mirror. And above all—never break a Forbidden Rule. Breaking even one means certain death. But when ordinary student Kai discovers that he can hear the voices of everything around him, he realizes the rules aren't as simple as everyone believes. Doors whisper about what lies behind them. Mirrors reveal who is watching. Clocks warn him when death is approaching. Even cursed objects secretly tell him how they can be defeated. Then Kai discovers something terrifying: The rules themselves can talk. Instead of obeying the supernatural laws that control the world, Kai begins interrogating them, discovering loopholes that no one else could ever know. A murderous doll tells him exactly what makes it angry. A cursed house reveals which room is safe. A mysterious monster accidentally exposes its own weakness. And when an unstoppable rule declares, “Anyone who hears this command must die,” Kai simply asks: “Who made you?” Now hunted by increasingly powerful supernatural entities, Kai must uncover the origin of the Forbidden Rules before they realize his greatest secret.
